As the last few hours of 2013 loom we can’t help but look back and realise what a great year it was for us here at YPSDC.
Our 2 fabulous nurses, Sheree and Amy passed their course with flying colours and earned their Dental Nurse qualifications. We are all so proud at how hard they worked throughout their course and the dedication they put in.
We have recently welcomed a new Trainee Nurse to the team, Alexandra and she has fitted right in and feels like a part of the furniture already!
We said a sad farewell to our Clinic Manager Lisa this month and wish her all the best in her new venture and we’ll have a peppermint tea on stand-by for the visits she has promised us.
Dr Simon Milbauer has had a busy year jet-setting around the World with a couple of visits to Italy to work alongside the brilliant Dr. Tiziano Tealdo. The advanced skills and experience he gained while there have been invaluable and not only that a great friendship has been built with our Italian friends.
He also had the pleasure of attending some seminars with Ashley Latter and again the techniques and alternate ways of thinking he learnt from Ashley are mind blowing and he certainly came home with a spring in his step.
This year has been jam-packed for him and at the start of the year he also attended a training session on sinus lifts- a service that we are now regularly offering here at the Clinic.
In between all this Dr Agnieszka Milbauer has been squeezing in some exciting training for herself. She has attended London on 2 occasions for some intensive training on Six Month Smiles and Fast Braces. We have been blown away by the response we have had from our short orthodontic treatments and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular treatments here at the Clinic. With clients coming from Elgin, Buckie, Inverness and beyond they are amazed at how quickly results are happening for them and they are able to show off their smile.
Dr Agnieszka and Amy paid a visit to one of the dental laboratories we work very closely with. They spend the day in discussions with the technicians and touring the site, delving into how they make your lovely new teeth for us. It’s so important that we have a good relationship with our technicians and they understand fully the high standard we expect of them.
In the Summer we held a competition to win the prize of a lifetime- a new smile worth over £4000! The response to the competition was outstanding and after lots of consideration, meeting many lovely candidates, there was a clear winner for us- Gillian Fox. Gillian is currently wearing her Six Smile Smile cosmetic braces and we are looking forward to the end of the treatment when we can see the magic that’s been happening.
We have also welcomed 2 amazing new pieces of equipment into the clinic this year. The most recent is our shiny new OPT machine. This has been a god send for us and already it has been busy busy busy. It allows us to take full panoramic x-rays for our clients and us to get the full picture right away without them having to visit elsewhere for this.
The second was SNAP- the dental software that allows us to digitally project hundreds of smiles on any of our clients to give them an idea of how great even little changes can look. There’s lots of information on this from a blog a couple of months ago.
And lets not forget us lifting not one but two titles at the Scottish Dental Show. We were absolutely honoured to be given the Best Private and Most Attractive Practice Award titles while Simon, Sheree and Amy were attending the show- WOW!
The team also attended the prestigious annual Dentistry Scotland Award at Gleneagles. We had a fantastic night, good food, lovely hotel, great company and lots of dancing!
It’s been a very busy year here at the Clinic, it’s almost gone too fast- lots of lovely new clients and the feedback from them has been great and that’s not to forget our regular faithful clients who we always look forward to seeing too.
2014 is already gearing up to be just as great. Simon, Agnieszka and Amy are already booked on to some exciting courses, we will be attending the Dentistry Show in February and not to mention some amazing competitions and offers coming up for you, our lovely clients!
